Children learn best through memorable experiences. As an elementary school teacher, I observed the joy of students actively engaged in activities that stimulated their senses and imagination. Now as a private tutor, I create creative lessons and activities to enhance the learning of literacy and mathematics. Storytelling, art, and movement complement academic exercises, allowing students to understand concepts in a meaningful and enjoyable way.
I offer tutoring for first through eighth grade students in the Ann Arbor area. I specialize in all areas of literacy and math. Beyond reading and writing, the teaching of literacy includes phonics, comprehension, handwriting, spelling, and grammar. Math subjects include arithmetic, geometry, algebra, measurement, estimation, and the study of fractions, decimals, percentages, graphs, tables, money, and time. The individual needs of each student determine the focus of each lesson.
